Sweetwater in the Foothills • Tucson, Arizona

HABITAT & GARDENING TIPS

Want to know how much it rained at your house?

The official rainfall for Tucson is measured at the Tucson International Airport. That rarely reflects how much rain we've received here at Sweetwater in the Foothills, or tells you whether we've had enough rain that you can skip a scheduled watering cycle. To receive regular rain reports for this area, go to http://www.rainmapper.org and fill out the registration form. You'll get an email report after it rains with data collected by rain-loggers closest to where you live.

Have a rain gauge? Want to be a rain-logger?
Once you're on the above site, you can register with a user name and password, and then begin entering data (daily or monthly) for the rain that falls into your rain gauge. All this additional input helps the UofA with their data collection, and gives us a more accurate picture of where rain actually falls in the Tucson basin.
